In summer, temperatures average about 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29.3 C) and winter at about 67 degrees Fahrenheit (19.8 C). Most Pacific Island temperatures are in these ranges, as most of the islands are located somewhat near the Equator.

Mildly warm temperatures, with humidity, are the norm for the most popular Pacific Islands, making them a very desirable tourist location. The rains create a nicely tropical plant life assortment, and with warm temperatures and rich volcanic soils, plant growth is lush. Native peoples have adapted to the temperatures with appropriate dress for warm, moist climates. Surfing is popular around the Pacific Islands, including Hawaii, and the Galapagos Islands, where world class waves are sought by expert surfers.

When most people think of Pacific Island temperatures, they are thinking of the tourist area in the mid North and mid South Pacific, which is a very comfortable zone. They are not likely to travel to the freezing Arctic and Antarctic locations unless they are on a scientific mission. For the most part, Pacific Islands are warm and welcoming to all, and a fun place to visit.
